Perhaps it was that one hundredth deliberate and calculated bite on your now scarred and disfigured nose!
I know, I can already hear your protests! No, actually it was that time that you caught 'Angel' eating your new Gucci bag, and when you yelled she grinned with malicious delight as she gleefully ripped off the last strap!
Puppies are a wonder and joy for their new families; they represent an amazing innocence and a promise of unlimited potential. It is said that animals are brought into our lives to teach us about ourselves. I couldn't agree more. Why then do we see so many 3-4 month old puppies discarded at our humane shelters and advertised as a give-away in the Classifieds? What went wrong? I assure you it is not the puppy that's the problem. Lack of communication between our two species is the culprit.
Or maybe you are shaking your head and saying no, the last straw was actually the insolent peeing episode right after one of those fun, exhilarating walks where you were cleverly lulled into thinking this dog owning thing was actually a really GOOD idea after all!
Believe me, it is none of those things. Nature developed our canine companions different from ourselves and we need to learn their language before they can learn ours. Simple communication is the magic key to success and a long and rewarding relationship with our amazing friends.
